2023 GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION

The upcoming November 18th General Election is a pivotal moment for Lafayette Parish. This year, our community will come together to choose our next Mayor-President and the City of Lafayette District 1 Council Representative. 

​

Your voice matters, and casting your vote early ensures you avoid the anticipated long queues on election day. Beyond our local responsibilities, we'll also be shaping Louisiana's future by electing a new Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Treasurer. 

​

Mark your calendars for early voting opportunities from Nov. 3 to Nov. 11. Do note, however, there will be no voting on Nov. 5 and Veterans Day on Nov. 10. Let's exercise our civic rights, and shape the future of Lafayette Parish together.

EARLY VOTING & ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Mark your calendars for these critical upcoming dates. If you're planning to register through the GeauxVote Online Registration System, make sure to complete it by October 28th!

​

Those looking to beat the rush on election day can cast their votes early from Nov. 3-11, from 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Keep in mind there won't be voting on Sunday, Nov. 5 and Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 10. If you're opting for an absentee ballot, you can request one online via the Louisiana Secretary of State Voter Portal or in writing through the Registrar of Voters Office, but your requests must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14th.

Any completed absentee ballots must reach the Registrar of Voters Office by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, with exceptions for military and overseas voters. Your participation shapes our future — let's make every vote count!

Whether you're in the heart of downtown or out in suburban areas, there's a polling station near you, complete with ample parking and efficient service.
